The following pictures and information are from John Terracuso whose father, Captain Nicholas Terracuso was with the 11th Bombardment Group (H) from around 1943 to 1945. He attended Armorer School at Buckley Field, CO which he completed November 28, 1942.
John has no idea which Island the pictures were taken on and his dad only identified the people by writing their first names on the backs of the pictures. During their time on the Island they built a bamboo and wood bridge over a drainage ditch so they could cross.

A "short snorter is a banknote inscribed by people traveling together on an aircraft. The tradition was started by Alaskan bush flyers in the 1920s and spread through the military and commercial aviation. During World War II short snorters were signed by flight crews and conveyed good luck to soldiers crossing the Atlantic. Courtesy of Wikipedia
