The following site tells many stories and has pictures from WWII veterans who were stationed in the Aleutian Island during the war. A lot of people are unaware of this part of WWII. This site was developed and maintained by a very good and long time friend of mine and a USAF retiree.

During WWII he flew bombing missions over many islands in the South Pacific as a member of the 11th Bombardment Group (H). His son (Dan) has a web site with many pictures his dad took during the war.

TSgt. Paul Fredrick Adler, USAAC, was a flight engineer/gunner on a B-17 Flying Fortress during WWII.During the attack on Hickam Field he was a mechanicís instructor.Later he volunteered for flying status as a flight engineer/gunner on Capt. Hallís crew.On February 1, 1943 as a member of Capt. Hallís crew they were reported as missing in action in the Solomon Islands.His son, who was born on the day he was reported missing, has written a biography, ďLost in the PacificĒ, about his dad.Click on the title to read this biography.
